Tallinn Old Town Food Festival during european tour to Estonia

This year, all those who appreciate fine dining and innovative flavours are welcome to rediscover the restaurants of the Old Town for a third year in row. From 12 to 22 April, the top Old Town restaurant chefs will slave away at their stoves to offer a bountiful three course menu at an affordable price. Eight chefs will cross their swords – or knives – in a culinary battle, and the winner of the festival will be chosen in part by input from the diners. This year’s competitors are the chefs of the following restaurants: Leib Resto ja Aed, Kaerajaan, Dom, Dominic, Olde Hansa, Balthasar, Seafood Bar and Goodwin The Steak House. Every year, a theme has been suggested for the challenge. This year the FoodFest challenge is to create a 3-course meal under the theme of ‘Past, Present and Future.’ Each creation must refer to one of these periods, while the main ingredients for the dishes must all be locally sourced. It is therefore an opportunity for each chef to showcase a current dish from their menu, pay homage to a dish from the past and craft a new, innovative dish of the future. The winner of the event in 2017 and people’s favourite was the chef Kristo Malm from Leib Resto ja Aed restaurant. The Old Town restaurant chefs will create a three course top notch menu, specially for the FoodFest, including an entrée, main course and dessert for the total price of 28 euros.  Come and enjoy the creativity of chefs, spring in the beautiful Old Town and the first summer patios welcoming the sunshine!
