The first stop in our tour will be at Namur. The first mention of Namur belongs to the 7th century. The first settlers of this region were the Celts; then the area was conquered by the French people and later by the Austrians. This is an ancient city with rich history and great historical heritage. You will walk on the embankment, which stretches along the Sambre River. This place features wonderful views of the Citadel. St. Aubin Cathedral is one of the oldest buildings of Namur. One of the streets of Namur hides another beautiful building - Church of St Lou. The most massive facility of this town is the local Citadel. First walls that surround it were built yet in the Middle Ages. Near the Citadel you will find Chateau de Namur. Nowadays the castle is turned into a restaurant, so everyone can dine in candlelight, surrounded by true medieval atmosphere. While walking through the quiet streets of Namur, you will see interesting old buildings, created in accordance with best traditions of past centuries. Don’t forget to check local shops or walk along the bank of the river. One of the most interesting symbols of the city is Jambes Bridge built over a thousand years ago. The most important religious monument for all residents of the city is Notre-Dame du Rempart. The very first church on its site was built more than a thousand years ago, and some elements of the old temple building can be seen even today. The main artifact of the old church is the statue of the Virgin Mary who was considered the guardian of the city back in the Middle Ages. One of the fascinating city attractions is Marie Spilar Tower built in 1388. It is a surviving part of the old city wall, which is connected with lots of incredible ancient stories. It had already been equipped with a clock in the 16th century, which signalled the opening and closure of the external city gates. UNESCO has now recognised the belfry as part of the World Heritage. After we will drive to Durbuy, known as the smallest city in Belgium and also renowned for its excellent food. This unique town was built in 1331 century and will take your breath away with its narrow and cobbled pedestrian streets that are winding between ancient houses. The landscapes are indeed heart stopping and you should better be hungry because a consistent breakfast made out of local cheese and ham specialties will take you to the pristine flavours of the medieval Belgium. Photogenic cobblestone alleys of solid grey-stone buildings are full of cute craft shops and charming restaurants where you can also please your senses in boutiques with local artisanal products such as the beer, famous sausages or honey cakes from the Ardennes. The last stop of our tour will be at Dinant, where you will enjoy the narrow and steep banks of the Meuse River from its impressive citadel, located on a 100-meter-high cliff. Once in town, you will preambulate around the gorgeous Collegiate Church of Notre Dame, Rocher Bayard, Charles de Gaulle Bridge and saxophone samples made in the name of its creator Adolphe Sax. Also you will can embark on an  boatride on the Meuse River, where you will pair local Belgian beers (such as Leffe) with food, in a delicious combination of flavours. After we will return to Charleroi.
