Amager Museum - Lund - Malmo

Our first stop in this tour we will make at the island southeast of Copenhagen's city center,  in Amager Museum (Amagermuseet) offers visitors a glimpse into a way of life that’s long-since disappeared. Reconstructed rooms recreate the interiors of old Danish farmhouses, while embroidered traditional costumes and displays of hand-weaving provide insight into the fashions of a bygone era. The Basics Amager Museum also has a petting farm, vegetable and flower gardens, daily costume parades, and riding displays. Plus, costumed volunteers organize family-friendly activities such as pancake baking, vegetable harvesting, animal feeding, and laundering on traditional washboards. Museum at  the island of Amager, is defined by a distinct identity and unique local cultural heritage that reveals a wide array of stories about a tightly knit and primarily Dutch immigrant community. The Dutch farmers were famous for their expertise in vegetable growing, and Amager produce soon became in high demand at markets in Copenhagen – produce that was easily recognisable because of the characteristic Dutch garments the farmers wore. Next we will drive to another country - Sweden across the fantastic Öresund Bridge and make next stop at the city Lund which is a charming city that combines ancient with modern. Founded by the Danes around 1000 AD and once the seat of the largest an archbishopric that held sway over all of the Nordic countries, Lund is the second-oldest city in Sweden. Today the town’s remarkable cathedral stands as a stark reminder of that rich heritage, serving as a focal point for visitor and locals alike. Beyond the cathedral, Lund is the city with youthful energy thanks to the presence here of a well-regarded university university (c 1666). Meanwhile the city centre is simply charm personified, speckled with historic buildings and narrow cobble-stoned side streets that positively demand to be explored.  Next we will visit to the city Malmo which is the third largest city in Sweden, separated from Copenhagen only by the Oresund Bridge. Malmö, together with the whole region of Scania, was once part of Denmark, something that can be felt when you are walking around the city. On your walking tour, you will see the many sites of Malmö and will learn about the fantastic history of the city and many buildings and monuments that grace this beautiful city. Learn the history of the Malmöhus and hear of the many battles between the Swedes and Danes. See the beautiful Gamla kyrkogården, and sites such as Slottsmöllan, Malmöhus, cozy squares, the bronze marching band, and much more.​ During the tour you will see Stortorget, Lilla torg, Gustav Adolfs torg, Malmöhus, Slottsmöllan, Turning Torso, Sankt Petri Kyrka and Kungsparken. Free time and after we will drive back to Copenhagen.
