Route: Faro - Sagres - The Cabo Sao Vicente - Portimao - Cruise to Benagil Caves - Faro

The first stop of our tour will be at the village of Sagres. The Fortress of Sagres is one of the sites that we will explore. Full of history, it is simply unique designed fort protected the town from raiders from North Africa. It was from here that Henry the Navigator devised his 15th-century expeditions to the uncharted seas around the western side of Africa, which heralded in the golden era of Portugal exploration.We will also go to Cape St. Vincent which was once known as the “End of the World,” because, being at the extreme west of continental Europe, no one knew what lay beyond the horizon. There located the Lighthouse is unique, where we have views full of beauty. The lighthouse Sagres’ is the most luminous in Europe, it’s light stretches to see 32 nautical miles, which is the equivalent of about 60 Kilometers. This place is historically connected to the Portuguese Age of Discovery, in the 15th century Henry the Navigator established a school of navigation here where some of the world’s most important explorers, including Magellan and Diaz, apprenticed. After that visit we will drive to Portimão which is a popular holiday destination that captures the true essence of the Algarve. The ultimate Portuguese beach life and cuisine are found in this port city that it is the second largest in the region. Portimão is known for its breathtaking Praia da Rocha beach and the buzzing scene around it. Whether you come to enjoy the crazy nightlife or just want to eat a couple of grilled sardines, you won’t forget your visit to this beautiful city. There we will go to cruise along the coast of the Algarve in a comfortable boat. Admire stunning views of the coastline from the water as you make your way towards the Benagil caves. Upon arrival at the rock formations, enter the caves by boat to explore an amazing natural attraction that can only be accessed from the water. Look for dolphins swimming in their natural habitat on the return journey, and stop for a swim at a beautiful location selected by your captain. After that we will return to Faro.
