Our first stop in this tour will be at Valladolid where you will visit the main sightseeing places in the city while you hear about its impressive history. Ephemeral capital of the Kingdom and main city of the region, Valladolid is plenty of history where discover a wide variety of services and leisure, but mostly a latent mixture between past, present and future. We will visit the main sightseeing places in the city, including: Central Park, Zorrilla square, Cavalry Academy, Santiago Street, Main Square,San Benito Monastery Contemporary Art Museum, St. Augustine Archives, Jewish quarter, Fabio Nelli Archaeological Museum, Old arena square, San Pablo Square and Church, Royal Palace, Sculpture Museum, • Church of St. Martin, Antigua Church, University Square, Cathedral, old Market. After we will drive to Ribera del Duero, where we visit to wineries and will test the local wines. The Spanish wine region of Ribera del Duero is one of the most prestigious wine producing areas in the world. If you love big, red wines, this is the region for you! Ribera del Duero’s vineyards blanket across the Duero river’s banks (the most famous wine river in Iberia, called the “Douro” in Portugal). This is the land of the “Conquistadors” and castles and ruined fortresses punctuate the dry arid landscapes throughout the region. The most impressive is Peñafiel, shaped like a battleship and located majestically on the top of a craggy hill. Mythical wines made here include Vega Sicilia, Pingus, Abadia Retuerta, Pesquera, Viña Mayor, Emilio Moro, Carmelo Rodero, Pago de Carrovejas, just to name a few. The famous “Golden Mile” in the Ribera features some of these wineries and some of Spain’s most expensive wines. You will have the opportunity to taste some of these wines and see where they are made.Experience the best of the winery with a tour of the facility and a tasting of 4 wines paired with local cheese. After that we will return to Leon.
