Our first stop of this tour will be at hilltop Los Cuatro Postes to admire superb panoramic views before visiting Avila's San Vicente Basilica. Ancient hill-top Avila has been declared a Unesco "Heritage of Mankind" city, and Ávila's old city, surrounded by imposing city walls comprising eight monumental gates, 88 watchtowers and more than 2500 turrets, is one of the best-preserved medieval bastions in Spain.  It's a deeply religious city that for centuries has drawn pilgrims to the cult of Santa Teresa de Ávila, with its many churches, convents and high-walled palaces. As such, Ávila is the essence of Castilla and the epitome of old Spain.The city was the birthplace of the mystic writer Saint Teresa of Jesus (1515-82) and is an important pilgrimage site. Also you will see the Walls of Avila, Catedral de Avila, Basilica de San Vicente, Church of San Pedro, Church of San Juan, Iglesia Santa Teresa, Plaza Mercado Chico, Mercado Grande, Paseo del Rastro, Puerta del Alcazar, Puerta del Carmen, Try the Yemas de Santa Teresa, Real Monasterio de Santo Tomas, Museo de Avila, Palacio de los Verdugo, Palacio Polentinos, Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Sonsoles and some of the 16th-century palaces.  Our next stop will be at Segovia where firstly we will see one of the best Roman-era monuments on the Iberian Peninsula - Segovia's incredible aqueduct.  Built in the time of Augustus, the aqueduct has 118 arches and is 10 miles (16 kilometers) long, although just a fraction of its length remains visible today. Next we will walk the Real Street and listen about the Casa de los Picos, St. Martin's Church, the Cathedral and the Alcázar a beautiful 11th-century medieval fort that inspired the design of the Disney castle. Next we will walk around the sightseeing point of la Canaleja and close to the surprising Casa de los Picos (Peak's House). Leaving behind the Medina del Campo Square and the Romanesque Church of San Martin, we will reach the Corpus Square dominated by the ancient Synagogue, Corpus Christi Church today. Later on, you will see the Main Square and the Cathedral. There you can admire the Cathedral of Segovia, Lady of Spanish Cathedrals. From the Cathedral you will continue the Segovia walking tour along the Medieval Quarter of the Canonjías that leads to the famous Alcázar, traditional royal fortress.  Strategically placed high on a plateau between two rivers in Spain’s Castile and Leon region, stands the Alcazar de Segovia. The Alcazar, which means palace or fortress in Arabic, is one of Spain’s most dazzling and romantic royal residences. This monolithic structure was the home to many notable royal families of Europe including members of the House of Burgundy, Trastamara, the Habsburgs, and the Bourbons. It has served as a fortress from invaders, a royal palace, a state prison, the Royal College of Artillery and Military Historical Archive. The Alcazar de Segovia is one of Spain’s most visited historical and cultural sites and with just one look at this imposing ship-shaped structure with its dark graphite-topped turrets, you’ll see why.After free time we will return to Madrid.
