Discover the geological site of the Enchanted City . You will encounter some fantastical landscapes and magical rock formations and find out why it was declared a Natural Site of National Interest in 1929. Located in the heart of the Natural Park of the Cuenca mounntains and surrounded by huge pines, the Enchanted City is undoubtedly one of the most spectacular places in Spain where you can meet and learn karst geological process and admire his whimsical formations. It dates back to 90 million years ago, when Enchanted City was part of the seabed of Thetis. It was quiet waters, which led to the deposition of salts, especially calcium carbonate. At the end of the Cretaceous as a result of the Alpine orogeny, the sea retreated and seabed, composed of limestone surfaceed. Thousands of years of action of water, wind and ice can do today to see this amaxing geological phenomenon in which children and adults will enjoy a magical setting where you let your imagination run... The dog, hippo, turtle, the Lovers of Teruel, the seal, the bears, the man's face, the boats, and the iconic tall mushroom, are just some of the natural wonders created by nature that you will discover during your visit to the Enchanted City.  Its beauty has even attracted the attention of many artists, making it a perfect setting for films, which have been stars such Sophia Loren, Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant, Oliver Stone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Before go ahead to Cuenca, we will make a stop at the viewpoint of Ventano del Diablo, from where you can get the best panoramic views of the Enchanted City. The next point of our tour will be at Cuenca, city declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO. There we will visit the old town of Cuenca, visiting its picturesque streets, which houses important sites of historical and cultural interest. We will admirethe impressive Cathedral of Santa Maria and San Julian , the first Gothic cathedral of Castile. Later, we will go to the Casas Colgadas (Hanging Houses), a group of buildings that constitute the best example of local popular architecture, recognized by their large balconies that stand out on the elevated cornice of the Huécar river sickle. There you will also find the Museum of Abstract Art , which exhibits paintings and sculptures by Spanish artists from the mid-twentieth century. Finally, we will reach the San Pablo Bridge , which crosses the Huécar River offering an incredible view of the Hanging Houses. After free time, we will  return to Madrid.
