Our first stop in this tour we will make at  the Koldinghus caslte which is the Jylland´s last royal castle. Koldinghus is much more than a museum. See the remains of the ruin that tells of the disaster fire in 1808 or experience the story very closely when there are living tales in the castles' rooms and see modern design. Throughout its more than 700 years of existence, Koldinghus Castle has played a significant role in Denmark’s history as a border guard and as one of the royal family’s favourite castles. It was the first to be used exclusively as a royal residence. King Christian III died here on new year’s day in 1559. King Christian IV spend a significant part of his childhood and youth here. The Castle lost its importance as more and more of the duties of the Royal family moved to the capital. King Frederik IV was the last king to live in the castle, but it was only temporary, while the plague was raging in Copenhagen. The giant tower "Kæmpetårnet" is named after the four statues of giants from the Greek and Roman myths who stood at the top of the tower. Today only Hercules remains. Next we will visit to Geographical garden in Kolding which is one of the city's green oases - here is plenty of space to enjoy nature . Discover a world of plants and explore the unique collection of flowers, trees, plants and herbs arranged by their country of origin.  You can experience thousands of roses, greenhouses, animal shelters and jungle paths or get inspiration for your own garden at the Gardens of Ideas.  There we will visit to Kolding Miniature Town.Where you can see how the town looked in 1860-1870. By the plan there will be  700 buildings had been erected. Kolding Miniby is characterised by the abundant window decoration on the houses, as well as the many miniature people and animals in the backyards. The Geographical Garden is a perfect setting for the miniature town, and it’s easy to understand why Kolding Miniby has been called "the most beautiful miniature town in Denmark". Our next stop we will make at the Ribe which was founded around year 700,  Ribe is the oldest town, not only in Denmark, but in all of Scandinavia. Back in the Viking Era (793–1066 AD), it was an important trade town for the vikings because of its strategic location linking Scandinavia with the rest of the Nordic countries. Since then, Ribe has seen its fair share of turmoil. First a devastating fire in 1580 where 213 houses burned down, and then a severe flooding in 1634 that caused serious damage. But Ribe kept its medieval charm. A walk through Ribe is like a walk through Ribe's and Denmark's history. More than 100 preserved houses, half-timbered architecture, cobblestone streets and narrow alleys have will trought you to history of Denmark.During the tour you will see The Head Meadow and Danhostel Ribe, Grønnegade - the King's street, The Kings Castle Riberhus and the beloved Queen Dagmar,Storm Surges and Ribe Harbour - an important medieval North Sea port and Denmark’s gateway to Western Europe, Open-air court and Guild Signs, Hotel Dagmar and Porsborg, Old Town Hall and Ribe's Night Watchman, Maren Spliid (Splids) - One of Ribe's witches, The Cathedral and the Commoner’s Tower, The Latin school - and the birthplace of Jakob A. Riis, Hans Tausen's house and half-timbered buildings in Sønderportsgade, Taarnborg and the small "town-houses" - Medieval houses, Puggaard, The smallest house in Ribe, St Catherine's Church and Abbey,Koelholt Slippe, Ebbe Mogensen's gable house and Ribe Brackets, Gable houses in the main street, Nederdammen 31,Ribe main street, the dam and the river and Ribe’s Northern gate.After we will return to Odense.
