Our first stop will be at Baden which have been famous as a lively curative resort since Roman times, when Baden was known as "Aquae Helveticae". Baden – this vibrant little city on the Limmat has truly lived up to its name. Baden was even known to the Celts and Romans and its atmosphere was appreciated by such renowned figures as Goethe, Nietzsche and Dürrenmatt. Baden has always served as a meeting point and melting pot. The picturesque Old Town is one of the highlights of the city and is regarded as one of the most impressive of the medieval towns. You will open its diversity, which includes the houses that have been renovated to the smallest detail, stroll through the car-free streets and visit the ruins of Stein Castle, once the official residence of the Habsburgs. Other historic landmarks include the 56-meter-high City Tower, a Swiss listed building, and the Landvogteischloss (governor’s castle) with its modern extension housing the Historical Museum, and marvel at the impressive beam structure of the covered wooden bridge. Next stop of this tour will be at Basel which is situated in the heart of Europe, on both sides of the Rhine River. The city is the center of the idyllic border triangle of France, Germany, and Switzerland, nestled between the Swiss Jura, Germany's Black Forest and the Vosges in Alsace. Describing Basel in one word is not easy. Sometimes known as the cultural capital of Switzerland or as a university city, Basel boasts a wealth of cultural, historical, leisure, and enjoyment experiences. During the walk you will follow the traces of a very eventful past, from the tranquil Tinguely Fountain to Cathedral Hill, the town hall, and through the winding streets of the well-preserved old town. On this tour we try to trace the important steps Basel has taken in it’s more than 2000 year old history and decorate it with some sights. We will beginning with the Celts and Romans, visit the bishopric, elect a pope, built up the once biggest European paper and silk industry, join Switzerland and end up with the resourceful chemical research center from today. Our next stop will be at Colmar. Described by Frommer’s as ‘one of the most attractive towns in Alsace’, Colmar is situated in east-central France, in a border region that was once disputed between France and Germany. The city is renowned for its well preserved old town, its numerous architectural landmarks and its museums, among which is the Unterlinden Museum with the Isenheim Altarpiece. Our tour will  lead you to the “Maison des Tetes”, an outstanding German Renaissance building and to the Little Venice neighborhood where gorgeous half timbered houses are lined along the Lauch River. Other significant landmarks include the Koifhus, the Pfister house, Saint Martin church,  the Unterlinden Museum that houses world famous Isenheim Altarpiece, the covered market and so much more… After free time we will return to Zurich.
