Hasselt - Maastricht - Liege

Our first stop will be at the Hasselt which was founded in the 7th century under the name of Helbeek. The name of Hasselt first appears in 1165, when the borough receives its first town charter. Pedestrian friendly, the historic center of Hasselt is a pleasure to stroll around and has some fantastic antique buildings, restaurants and bars. Also you can visit to National Genever Museum where you discover the history of genever (gin) in an authentic 19th-century Hasselt distillery, the  Bokrijk Open-air Museum where is the reconstruction of a 19th-century countryside village. It has over 100 houses, a church, a windmill, and artisans wearing historical garments and working with the same tools as they would have 150 years ago,  Hasselt's Japanese Garden which is the largest Japanese Garden in Europe. Based on a 17th-century model and possesses no less than 250 Japanese cherry trees, Hasselt's 18th-century Beguinage. This convent for women was founded in 1245 and was used until the death of the last nun in 1886. It is located next to the Nationaal Jenevermuseum Hasselt. During the tour you also discover Herkenrode Abbey a former monastery of Cistercian nuns located in Kuringen. It was founded circa 1182 and secularised in 1799. Its Refugehuis was built in 1542-44 and is the oldest building in Hasselt. Oude Stadhuis -Hasselt's old town hall. Fashion Museum- , Stellingwerff-Waerdenhof Museum (folk and local history), St. Quentin's Cathedral and Virga Jesse Basilica. The next stop will be at the Holland's city Maastricht. In Maastricht almost everything is different from the rest of Holland. The legacy of twenty centuries of history is evident in the historic city center. Wherever you go, the interesting vistas, centuries-old churches and lovely facades will intrigue you. During the visit we will walk  the both sides of the Maas river, that divides this town.  You will see  the Onze Lieve Vrouweplein in front of the Onze Lieve Vrouwebasiliek (church),  the  Jeker Quarter, the Bisschopsmolen (water mill), a small part of the city walls and Helpoort (city gate), cross the Maas river via the Hoge Brug and see from that bridge the government building where they signed the famous Maastricht treaty, Ceramique, Wyck, Sint Servaas bridge, Markt and Vrijthof, old town and mach more. Also you can take  the boat trip on the river.
The last stop of our tour will be at the pleasant city of Liège is located in the Ardennes. Here too, a lot of history has been preserved, making walking through the center a fun activity. Everywhere you will find elements that indicate the different centuries in which Liège developed. Cozy squares are surrounded by beautiful buildings with various museums scattered throughout the city. You will discover  Montagne van Bueren: a street with a 374-step staircase in the center of Liège, La Boverie: an art museum surrounded by a beautiful park, Place Saint Lambert: large square in Liège where, among other things, the Prince-Bishops’ Palace , The Royal Opera of Wallonia, Des Chiroux Library, the Princes-Bishop's Palace and various art museums such as the Grand Curtius Museum. After we will return to Brussels.
