Route: Seville
Duration: 3 h
The first stop of our excursion will be at Maria Luísa Park. The park, which is home to an array of luxurious exotic tree gardens, was inherited by the city from the Duchess of Montpensier in 1893. Spend some time exploring the lush gardens and relax on one of the many colorful tiled benches whilst gazing on the Moorish-style mountains and swimming pools. Visit the city’s  Jewish quarter next, known as Bairro de Santa Cruz, and wander along its charming streets nestled between ancient  walls and hidden patios. After we will walk from Plaza del Triunfo by the monumental cathedral, and will entry to the largest Gothic cathedral (and 3rd largest church) in the world. Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site , the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See (Seville Cathedral) was the burial site of Christopher Columbus and has 80 chapels in which over 500 masses were said daily! Marvel at its Renaissance vault and the longest nave of any cathedral in Spain. After we will go to the Alcazar, built as fort by the moors, and subsequently used as a royal palace. The upper levels of  the Alcazar are still used by the Spanish Royal Family, making it the oldest royal palace still in use in Europe.  Admire its interior and see why it is regarded as one of the most outstanding  examples of Mudéjar architecture on the Iberian Peninsula. As you amble around the city, admire the array of centuries old Andalusian houses and impressive mansions that line the streets, creating a unique and charming Spanish atmosphere.
